Tales of The Home Folks in Peace and War.
Boston: Houghton, Mifflin and Company, 1898. Illustrated by E. Boyd Smith. First Edition. 12mo. (5" x 8") in yellow cloth boards with gilt titles and black decoration. From the author of the Uncle Remus books, these are tales of Southerners of all walks prior to, during, and after the American Civil War (as the title implies). Written in dialect these tales also portray the racial stereotypes of the day. Very Good. Some soiling to the boards, a small tear to the dedication page, and a gift inscription to the ffep.
