Washington, D.C. U.S. Department of Agriculture. 1927. 8vo. Staple-bound in green wraps with black titles and decoration. From 1926 to1934, a 15-minute radio program developed by the Bureau of Home Economics of the USDA featured "Aunt Sammy" (ostensibly the wife of Uncle Sam) and aimed at housekeepers. This cookbook was created due to demand for the recipes that were aired.

"Aunt Sammy's Radio Recipes is in no sense a complete cookbook. It is issued to meet the enormous demand for printed copies of the most popular recipes broadcast from October, 1923, to June, 1927, in the 'Housekeepers Chat' programs of the radio service, United States Department of Agriculture." Good. Paper wraps are split at the foot of the spine, some creases and damage to lower quarter, and some soiling to title page as shown. Item #189
